The Wayward Wind
The sea yields little comfort to my broken heart
it’s ominous icy depths so seldom care
I opt to seek my solace in a wayward wind
for the ocean’s only counsel is despair
In the tortured, angry silence lay suspended
The remnants of past crosses I must bare
broken vows, and deeds left undefended
Yet my heart maintains that I no longer care
Though rippling surf rolls gently on a distant shore
My mind is being whipped out of control
I can’t maintain this heading, yet I can’t break free
a perfect storm still rages in my soul.
