Dance into the light
Let the music sooth your soul
And the rhythm of your heart
combine with mine
Dance with me tonight
With your gentle, grace and ease
Sheer elegance
A masterful design
Dance on silver beams
And as I lead us step by step
This ballroom soon transcends
Both time and space
Dance my darling dance
All eyes upon you
They have seldom seen
Such beauty, poise and grace.

Great timing. I just referred the grace of ballroom dancing to one of my progeny, and we discussed the scene from Take the Lead where Antonio demonstrates the gentle strength of dance to the principal and the PTA. Thanks for the post!
I’ve heard mixed reviews about that movie, but most concede that Banderas was perfectly cast as the Dance Instructor.
Maybe I’ll rent it sometime. The eleven year-old me hated those ballroom dancing lessons, but it has paid dividends since then 🙂 I ‘m glad the timing worked for you.
Thanks muchly for liking and comenting.
so romantic, great poem Cliff!!
Thanks, so much, Terry! I used to dream of entering one of those Ballroom Dance competitions. Alas, I took two years of lessons as a kid, but haven’t had many opportunities to practise lately.
